Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, King Hunnet carries the soul and grind of his city in everything he does. He started writing music at just eight years old, channeling the energy of Memphis streets and southern rap legends into his early lyrics. His first rap name, “Ice Mane,” was a direct homage to one of his biggest influences — Gucci Mane — whose hustle and sound inspired him to chase his own lane in music.

Early Ambition & Evolution

By age 14, he began recording his own songs under the name “Star Gotti,” which later evolved into “Star G.” He was already performing by 15, hitting live shows with a confidence beyond his years, and by 16, he was rocking club stages across the city.

As his sound grew sharper, so did his identity. In 2013, he rebranded as “TYG Ru Readyy,” stepping into a new level of artistry and focus. The next year, during the creation of his mixtape Hunnet Round Drums & Money, he transformed again — this time into “Hunnet Round Readyy.” The name later shortened to “Hunnet Round”, marking one of the most impactful eras of his career.

Respecting the Past, Building the Legacy

Even as his music evolved, Hunnet never forgot where it started. To pay homage to his beginnings, he began using “Big Ice Mane” as an alias — a nod to the young artist he once was, and the reason he started creating in the first place.

In 2022, when he turned 25, he reintroduced himself once more as “OG Hunnet,” a title that represented his years of grind, his leadership, and the respect he’d earned in the game.

Then, in September 2025, came his most defining evolution yet: “King Hunnet.”
A name that signifies growth, mastery, and the crown he’s earned through two decades of consistency, loyalty, and self-belief.
